How to choose a Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner?

One of the primary focuses of Xiaomi is the production of smart home appliances. The brand is well-known for its high-quality, functional, and affordable robot vacuum cleaners.

When choosing the best model for your needs, there are a few important factors to consider:

• Cleaning type: Xiaomi offers vacuum cleaners that are suitable for both dry and wet cleaning. If your apartment has mostly carpeted floors, a model with dry cleaning capabilities is typically more powerful and user-friendly. However, if you need to regularly wipe the floor, a wet vacuum cleaner is a better choice.
• Understanding spatial orientation. Differentiate between optical, ultrasonic, and infrared sensor types. For cleaning small rooms, a robot with optical navigation is sufficient, while for an apartment with multiple rooms, an ultrasonic sensor is recommended. Additionally, if there are stairs present, an infrared sensor is necessary to ensure the vacuum cleaner can handle height differences.
• Power level. The efficiency of cleaning depends on this feature. The optimal power range is 20-40 watts. It’s also beneficial to have a suction power control function as it helps conserve battery charge and extend the device’s lifespan.
• Noise level and device profile. The ideal noise range is 40-60 dB, which is comparable to a quiet conversation. When selecting a device, consider models with a height of up to 11 cm as they can easily fit under furniture and clean hard-to-reach areas.
• The preferred battery capacity is at least 2000 mA*h for lithium battery types. It is recommended to charge the battery on a special base rather than using an adapter.
• Extra features to consider include room mapping, a timer, notifications for when the device is stuck, scheduling cleaning sessions, and automatic cleaning. The necessity of these features depends on your specific needs.

	Owner’s Opinion
This is a fantastic machine for both dry and wet cleaning. With a water tank that holds enough water for 3 maximum water consumption cleanings, it easily tackles an area of 24sqm. It effortlessly overcomes thresholds and the battery charge lasts for 3 cleanings on the specified area. Occasionally, it may travel on a slightly strange route, but it quickly adjusts itself. Sometimes it doesn’t slow down in front of dark obstacles on time, however, overall, it’s a great value for its price. The biggest advantage is that it vacuums and cleans simultaneously, eliminating the need to rearrange containers, as it has a convenient 2-in-1 container.

The autonomous nature of this system allows you to go a whole month without ever having to touch the unit until the bag in the base station becomes full. However, if you have a lot of hair or long hair, you will need to clean the brushes every couple of weeks. The phone’s map feature is very convenient for initiating cleaning in specific rooms or zones. Unfortunately, the map editor does not currently offer the ability to delete individual areas, which can be problematic if the robot mistakenly cleans non-existent areas. In such cases, you will have to reset the entire map.
